Inspections

Regular maintenance inspections are more than just a regulatory checkbox. They help uncover potential issues early, which can help you avert the stress of high expenses and the disappointment of aircraft downtime.
ANNUAL/100HR INSPECTIONS PERFORMED I/A/W FAR 43 APP D
ALL INSPECTION PERFORMED USING CURRENT FEDERAL AVIATION REGULATIONS
Airframe inspection: This involves checking the overall structure of the aircraft, including the fuselage, wings, and tail, for signs of wear, corrosion, or damage.
Engine and propeller inspection: The engine is inspected for leaks, wear, and proper operation. This includes checking the compression in piston engines, inspecting the spark plugs, and examining the propeller for nicks, cracks, or other damages.
Fuel system inspection: All components of the fuel system, including tanks, fuel lines, and filters, are checked for leaks, proper operation, and contamination.
Landing gear inspection: The landing gear, including wheels, brakes, and tires, is examined for wear and damage. This also includes checking the hydraulic or pneumatic systems for leaks or defects.
Avionics and electrical systems: The inspection covers all avionics and electrical systems: checking wiring for fraying or other damage, testing avionics equipment, and verifying the operation of navigation and communication systems.
Cockpit and cabin inspection: This includes checking all instruments and controls for proper operation, inspecting seat belts and harnesses for wear, and ensuring that emergency equipment is in place and serviceable.
Flight control system: The mechanisms that control the aircraft, such as the ailerons, elevators, and rudder, are checked for free and correct movement. This also includes inspecting the control cables, pulleys, and rods for wear or damage.
Exhaust system: The inspection includes checking the exhaust system for leaks, cracks, or signs of corrosion.
Lighting and electrical equipment: Exterior and interior lights, as well as other electrical equipment such as batteries, are checked for operation and condition.
Documentation review: Finally, the aircraft’s maintenance records, logbooks, and documentation related to airworthiness directives and service bulletins are reviewed to ensure compliance with all regulations and to record the completion of the inspection.
